Before you start
Desktop/mobile versions are separate. Inspect Settings → Updates on each device.
Downloaded, prepared, installed and awaiting restart are distinct states.
Step by step
- Use the public Downloads page for fresh desktop installation.
- Check installed version and offered update in Settings → Updates.
- Let the apply flow finish and restart when requested.
- Confirm the new version and visible working window.

Check Helios version/update status on this PC. If restart left no visible window, collect relevant lifecycle logs and explain the next safe recovery step.
Check the result
- The app opens visibly and signs in normally.
- Installed version is the intended one.
- Conversations and saved preferences remain available.
If something goes wrong
For hidden processes, record old/new version and update path. Do not delete user data as a shortcut.
For redirect loops, capture the exact URL. Downloads should not require private-network access.
