Check-ins and proactive help

Why Helios sometimes starts a conversation, and how to change the level of contact.

Different reasons for a message

A scheduled reminder, a task completion alert and an unprompted check-in are different things. Scheduled tasks follow their saved timing; a check-in is selected from context and may be skipped.

Relevant topics can include an unfinished conversation or a project follow-up. Device health observations require the relevant access and a connected device; Helios is not automatically monitoring every screen or log.

Set the boundaries

Tell Helios what contact is welcome, or ask for fewer check-ins. A proactive suggestion is not permission to install software, edit a project or send a message to another person.

If the same message repeats, treat it as a bug and report the conversation and approximate times. Repetition is not evidence that you need to respond.

Example request

Keep check-ins occasional, avoid repeating a question I haven’t answered, and don’t contact me while I’m asleep. Ask before starting any new computer work.

Travel and reminders

Use the time and scheduled-task controls to review the timezone saved with a reminder. On a detected timezone change, choose whether to keep the earlier schedule or adjust it. Your device time and a remote computer’s time may differ.

Your screen may differ by platform and version. Check availability or get help.
