Your timezone and a remote computer

Every task has a saved IANA timezone. A remote computer in another timezone does not move the task. Enter the time in the schedule timezone shown in the editor; the server converts it to an absolute instant.

If a device reports a different zone, choose “Only this device is elsewhere” to leave your personal timezone and all task times unchanged. If you travelled, choose whether existing tasks stay in their old zones or move their clock times. New tasks default to your confirmed personal timezone.

Elapsed timers keep their duration. During daylight-saving changes, a repeated clock time uses its first occurrence and a nonexistent time moves forward by the clock-change gap. A moved one-off reminder that is already in the past is paused for review.

A task needing an offline computer cannot run on it merely because its due time arrived. Check the task status and device availability; scheduled time is not evidence of successful execution.

Choose the kind of schedule

A reminder notifies you; a scheduled task asks Helios to do work. A phone alarm is managed by the OS and can behave differently.

Verify the time shown in the saved schedule. Older public builds may not contain the new user-timezone and travel-choice behavior.

  1. Describe action, date/time, timezone and recurrence.
  2. Choose the Chat or Work conversation and check the next-run time.
  3. Keep the execution computer available if the task needs it.
  4. When offered a travel choice, keep the original timezone or move scheduled tasks to the new local zone. Pause or delete tasks you no longer need.

Try this

Example request

Every weekday at 09:00 Europe/London, check this project’s test results and give me a short summary here. Show the saved schedule and next-run time before considering setup complete.

Check the result

  • Timezone, recurrence and destination are correct.
  • A small test task arrives once.
  • An offline computer produces a clear pending or failed state.

Travel and daylight saving

Use named zones such as Europe/London when diagnosing a mismatch. Daylight-saving transitions can skip or repeat local times.

Helios travel choices do not claim to rewrite OS calendar events or phone alarms. Check those in their own apps.
